There must be some reason for locking the park. Clearly the lock doesn't prevent people from entering or leaving. Must be some symbolic meaning. It reminds me of sneaking into cemeteries late at night to run around and dance......

Wow getting locked into a park would be worse than getting locked into a dance studio. That almost happened to me once. I was in the bathroom, and no one saw me go in there... I was only in there for a few minuets but the studio owners were in a hurry to leave that night. lol

Getting locked in the dance studio with someone you want to dance with would not be too bad.

This reminds me of a scene from a play that I wrote when I was at Oxford called "The Feast of Merit." A couple gets locked in the MCR walk-in closet where all the beer, candy bars, and potato chips are stored during a disco party. Of course, there were no cell phones to call for help, so they were pounding on the door but no one could hear. They get drunk while waiting to be rescued. When they are finally rescued and come staggering out, everyone imagines the worst about what happened. It was a jolly good play...not sure where it is.

Mine too. I knew it had to be included in an account of Oxford. Another Oxford park that I love is Cutteslowe, north of Summertown. It has a miniature train, a duck pond, and back then a wading pool with a concrete boat in middle. Oxford has a generous amount of green space.
